MAC Ruby Woo

MAC Ruby Woo – The Perfect Matte Red!!

Today I am going to review the product that needs no introduction in Makeup World, biggest of the Makeup Artists swear by this product. So, ladies here I present the most lovable red lipstick of all time, MAC Ruby Woo. Ruby Woo was my first purchase from MAC and after that there is no looking back. MAC lipsticks at that time were priced Rs.990 but prices have increased and now I guess it is available at Rs. 1450.

I have always been avid lover of Bold colors and never shy away to try them. After much trial and error I can say I have found MY KIND OF RED, in fact Ruby Woo is one such color which suits all the skin tones from dusky to fair. It has a classic Matte formula which gives the feeling of old Hollywood Charm. It feels so subtle on lips and once you apply it settles on lips very nicely and doesn’t give any bothersome feeling. I have been using this religiously from couple of years, be it some Family Function, outing with friends or date night with Mr. Hubby. Each time I wear this color I have received compliments. Anyways let’s jump to review now.

Ingredients: Dimethicone, Isoeicosane, Kaolin, Ceresin, ParaffinIsononylIsononanoate, Microcrystalline Wax, Silica, Carnuba,Hydrogenatedpolyisobutene, Vanillin, Tocopherol, Glyceryllinoleate, PVP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Methicone, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Mica, Titanium hydroxide, Iron Oxides, Blue 1 Lake, Bismuth Oxychloride, Carmine, Red 6, Red 6 Lake, Red 7 Lake, Red 28 Lake, Red 30 lake, Yellow 5 Al Lake, caprylic, orange 5 lake, red 33 lake, yellow 6 lake, yellow 10 lake

Texture: It has a very dry Matte texture, I would advise to moisture and scrub your lips before applying this.

Fragrance: It has same vanilla scent like all MAC Lipsticks have.

Packaging: Same old black Packaging with the name written in the bottom which makes it very difficult to locate in makeup stash.

Staying Power: It has really long staying power, I have it on me for longest period of 8-9 hours. It slightly fades from the inner corner of lips but if you put a nude lip liner or matching red lip liner underneath then it would solve this issue up to some extent. People with really dry lips can experience dryness and can dab some lip balm over it.

MY VERDICT: LOVE LOVELOVE IT. I love how it brightens my face and make the lips really standout. I recommend it to all the lovely ladies, I know price is high but it is totally worth. So, go and gift it to you on this Valentine Day , you won’t regret.

NOTE: I would advise to go minimalistic route with the rest of the face makeup. My rule is to either go with loud lips or loud eyes, not both.

Enjoy the review ladies, i would love to know your experience with Ruby Woo.  BTW who all are buying Ruby Woo on Valentine Day 😉
