My Experience: Packaging was the first thing that caught my eye and it was love at first sight. Purple color of the lipstick case is so hypnotising…it almost draws you towards it 😉 I immediately asked SA what color options are available and to my surprise the collection had All Fired Up included.

MAC All Fired Up-Magic of the Night Collection for Holiday 2015-swatch

I will describe MAC All Fired Up as Bright Reddish Fuchsia but it does not have strong blue undertone. It looks warm on application. All Fired up is a permanent shade of the Retro Matte Collection. Being this member of Retro Matte Collection, it is super matte and dry. But it does not tug much on lips and application is quiet smooth as compared to Ruby Woo. I have been wearing this color a lot lately and absolutely love everything about it. It stays on me for 7+ hours and leaves a pink stain behind. All you need to make sure to properly exfoliate and moisturise the lips before application.

Pros:

  1. Limited Edition absolutely gorgeous Packaging.
  2. Beautiful Reddish Fuchsia color that would suit mostly all Skin tones.
  3. Member of the Renowned Retro Matte collection by MAC.
  4. Intense Pigmentation.
  5. Smooth Application.
  6. Long Lasting.
  7. Matte Finish.

Cons:

  1. Make the lips dry after few hours of wear.
  2. Limited Edition Packaging, however you will get MAC All Fired Up in black case packaging anytime as this is included in Permanent range.

Rating: 4.5/5. Everything is good about this Lipstick, just make sure to take care of the dryness aspect. Properly exfoliate and moisturise the lips before application and keep dabbing the lip balm every few hours.

MAC Rebel lipstick review, swatch and FOTD

MAC Rebel lipstick:

I bought this lipstick last year, I was roaming around at Shoppers Stop GIP Noida and saw the SA at MAC wearing a very beautiful berry shade lipstick. I was not sure whether this shade would suit me but I thought to give it a try and I am really happy that I went outside of my comfort zone to try this shade. Let’s jump to the review now ladies.

MRP: Rs. 1450

Packaging: Typical black packaging with the name of the color written at bottom.

Color: Rebel is a deep plum shade with berry tones and has a subtle shine. It would suit mostly all the skin tones. It is not a matte lipstick but settles into semi matte finish after an hour.

Texture/formula: Texture is very creamy and lipstick glides smoothly on lips. Formula is not too drying but my lips felt dry after 4-5 hours of wear time. So I advise to moisturise the lips beforehand.

Scent: It has the signature vanilla scent which fades away soon.

Pigmentation: This lipstick is highly pigmented. One swipe will provide the full coverage. Few people have experienced uneven finish but not me, as a remedy a berry shade lip liner can be used to provide even coverage.

Longevity: The lipstick stayed on me for 7-8 hours with slight fading around the corners and in middle of the lips.

Staining: Yes it stains the lips heavily and you need to remove it with a oil based makeup remover.

Pros:

  • Nice deep berry shade.
  • Creamy texture
  • Highly pigmented
  • Satin finish which settles into matte finish after some time.
  • Long wearing

Cons:

  • Difficult to remove, stains the lips heavily.
  • Pricey

My verdict: I love it. This is my go to shade in winters as I prefer wearing dark shades in winters. Considering the positive points it have it will not disappoint you.

MAC Girl About Town Lipstick

So Mr. Hubby and I were passing my MAC counter and….

Mr. Hubby: You want anything honey?

Me: No (timidly and secretly wishing to lay my hands on Girl About Town, I had it in my wish-list for sooooooo long).

Mr. Hubby: Are you sure? (Oh!! I love that mischievous smile)

Me: Giggling….

And the next moment I was on the counter trying GAT on me and I loved it from that moment on.

MAC Girl About Town is a bright medium dark fuchsia pink Lipstick which possibly suits all skin tones. It has crème finish, you need not to prep your lips before applying this as it has the most forgiving texture and finish. It goes Opaque in just a single swipe. Although it has creamy texture but it doesn’t bleed and transfers minimally.  It has blue undertones and pops out really well and gives a warm glow on the face.

Pigmentation(5/5): It is very pigmented and one swipe gives the full coverage.

Texture/Formula(5/5): Formula feels hydrating and does not dry out the lips. It does not highlight the lip lines either.

Scent: It has the same vanilla scent like all MAC Lipsticks.

Longevity(5/5): It is a long wear lipstick. I love the kind of lipsticks which you just apply and then forget about the touch-ups. I am not a frequent touchup kind of person and find it really bothersome. It stayed on me for good 8-9 hours and leaves a lovely pink shade afterwards.

Application: Application is very easy, it doesn’t need any lip preparation beforehand. Glides very smoothly on lips.

The removal process is bit difficult though and requires a good makeup remover, still it leaves a slight pink tint.
