MAC Cosmetics has launched Matte Liquid Lipsticks this Summer in India. These are included in permanent range and you can get them in any MAC Cosmetics Outlet, however they are highly in demand so most likely you will see them OUT OF STOCK at their stores.

I could not get my hands on them when they were firstly launched couple of months back, however MAC has restocked them recently and I got this beautiful Red colour called FEELS SO GRAND.

A lip colour that provides a splash of colour in a liquid-suede finish that lingers.

For those who prefer timeless glamour to all-out flash, matte reigns supreme. M∙A∙C introduces a twist on this classic texture with robustly saturated shades of Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour. Whichever shade you choose, all promise one thing: a splash of colour in a liquid-suede finish that is impossible to forget.

MAC Cosmetics defines FEELS SO GRAND as DEEP TRUE RED which looks very close to RUBY WOO. The Pictures above will give you a clear picture of how the packaging is. The applicator is applause-worthy, it makes the application of lip colour very easy and smooth. MAC Feels so Grand is intensely pigmented and does not require lip liner underneath. However, I read online that the lighter shades in this range are not very pigmented. Like all Retro Matte Lipsticks, Feels So Grand is very drying. So, make sure to prep your lips i.e. exfoliate and mositurise them properly before application. This Range is not an ideal choice for Ladies with severe dry Lips.

This Lipcolour goes fully matte within minutes of application and once it is set it does not budge at all, no transfer and no smudging. It is also very long lasting, I had a wear time of around 7 hours (meals, snacks and drinks included in between). It surely fades from the inner corner of the lips but nothing worth noticing.

All in all FEELS so GRAND does really feel grand and adds a very nice glow to the face. In the pics below I have kept my whole makeup very subtle and still the look feel so regal, just because of that beautiful Red colour 🙂

My Experience: Packaging was the first thing that caught my eye and it was love at first sight. Purple color of the lipstick case is so hypnotising…it almost draws you towards it 😉 I immediately asked SA what color options are available and to my surprise the collection had All Fired Up included.

MAC All Fired Up-Magic of the Night Collection for Holiday 2015-swatch

I will describe MAC All Fired Up as Bright Reddish Fuchsia but it does not have strong blue undertone. It looks warm on application. All Fired up is a permanent shade of the Retro Matte Collection. Being this member of Retro Matte Collection, it is super matte and dry. But it does not tug much on lips and application is quiet smooth as compared to Ruby Woo. I have been wearing this color a lot lately and absolutely love everything about it. It stays on me for 7+ hours and leaves a pink stain behind. All you need to make sure to properly exfoliate and moisturise the lips before application.

  1. Limited Edition absolutely gorgeous Packaging.
  2. Beautiful Reddish Fuchsia color that would suit mostly all Skin tones.
  3. Member of the Renowned Retro Matte collection by MAC.
  4. Intense Pigmentation.
  5. Smooth Application.
  6. Long Lasting.
  7. Matte Finish.

  1. Make the lips dry after few hours of wear.
  2. Limited Edition Packaging, however you will get MAC All Fired Up in black case packaging anytime as this is included in Permanent range.

Rating: 4.5/5. Everything is good about this Lipstick, just make sure to take care of the dryness aspect. Properly exfoliate and moisturise the lips before application and keep dabbing the lip balm every few hours.

MAC Ruby Woo

MAC Ruby Woo – The Perfect Matte Red!!

Today I am going to review the product that needs no introduction in Makeup World, biggest of the Makeup Artists swear by this product. So, ladies here I present the most lovable red lipstick of all time, MAC Ruby Woo. Ruby Woo was my first purchase from MAC and after that there is no looking back. MAC lipsticks at that time were priced Rs.990 but prices have increased and now I guess it is available at Rs. 1450.

I have always been avid lover of Bold colors and never shy away to try them. After much trial and error I can say I have found MY KIND OF RED, in fact Ruby Woo is one such color which suits all the skin tones from dusky to fair. It has a classic Matte formula which gives the feeling of old Hollywood Charm. It feels so subtle on lips and once you apply it settles on lips very nicely and doesn’t give any bothersome feeling. I have been using this religiously from couple of years, be it some Family Function, outing with friends or date night with Mr. Hubby. Each time I wear this color I have received compliments. Anyways let’s jump to review now.

Ingredients: Dimethicone, Isoeicosane, Kaolin, Ceresin, ParaffinIsononylIsononanoate, Microcrystalline Wax, Silica, Carnuba,Hydrogenatedpolyisobutene, Vanillin, Tocopherol, Glyceryllinoleate, PVP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Methicone, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Mica, Titanium hydroxide, Iron Oxides, Blue 1 Lake, Bismuth Oxychloride, Carmine, Red 6, Red 6 Lake, Red 7 Lake, Red 28 Lake, Red 30 lake, Yellow 5 Al Lake, caprylic, orange 5 lake, red 33 lake, yellow 6 lake, yellow 10 lake

Texture: It has a very dry Matte texture, I would advise to moisture and scrub your lips before applying this.

Fragrance: It has same vanilla scent like all MAC Lipsticks have.

Packaging: Same old black Packaging with the name written in the bottom which makes it very difficult to locate in makeup stash.

Staying Power: It has really long staying power, I have it on me for longest period of 8-9 hours. It slightly fades from the inner corner of lips but if you put a nude lip liner or matching red lip liner underneath then it would solve this issue up to some extent. People with really dry lips can experience dryness and can dab some lip balm over it.

MY VERDICT: LOVE LOVELOVE IT. I love how it brightens my face and make the lips really standout. I recommend it to all the lovely ladies, I know price is high but it is totally worth. So, go and gift it to you on this Valentine Day , you won’t regret.

NOTE: I would advise to go minimalistic route with the rest of the face makeup. My rule is to either go with loud lips or loud eyes, not both.

Here is the pic of Harminder with bronze eyes and Ruby Woo on Lips.

Enjoy the review ladies, i would love to know your experience with Ruby Woo.  BTW who all are buying Ruby Woo on Valentine Day 😉
