Why Sulphate free Shampoo??
In recent years you might have heard much debate about the harmful effects of Sulphate in Shampoos, shower gel etc. It got me intrigued and I decided to do some research on it.
What are Sulphates?
Sulphates are what makes the shampoo turns into thick foam or leather. Apart from cleansing your hair it strip natural oils from them and make them dry and frizzy.
What can you expect by switching to Sulphate free Shampoo?
Sulphate free shampoos do not completely wash away the hair’s moisture or natural oils. They do not produce much leather but certainly cleanses the scalp and hair. However if you have severe oily and greasy hair then sulphate free shampoos may not have quite enough power to clean your strands as much as you want.
Who should use Sulphate free Shampoos?
Well there is no hard and fast rule about that. But if you have curly, dry and frizzy here or a sensitive scalp or chemically treated and coloured here then it would be good for you to switch to Sulphate free shampoos. Sulphate free shampoos maintains your natural hair texture.
Did I tried Sulphate free Shampoo?
Yes, I have been using The Body shop rainforest moisture shampoo and conditioner for dry hair from past 3-4 months. The Body shop rainforest moisture shampoo maintains my natural curls and my hair feels less frizzy but it makes my scalp dry. Still I am content that I am not treating my hair to harmful chemicals. I will keep using it and searching for a more suitable sulphate free shampoo.
